Okay, first things first, I have to tell you guys about the booth that was right beside us. These guys in Windham are doing such a fantastic job with this comic 'Escape From Jesus Island' Please check them out and support, you won't regret it. I have to confess, I haven't been too heavy into comics for a while but when there are just so many talented craftsman in the area, one has to take another look. Some of the work that Joe Piscopo is doing with 'The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli' is just really fun and exciting. So, also, be sure and to check them out!
So, this night marks day 2 of PortCon and I have to say it's been really great meeting with readers and writers alike. The facilities have been great and so far, the panels have been really interesting and exciting.
However, what most impressed me this year was all the costumes. I've been trying to do the math in my head for the past couple of days now (counting) and I think I'm able to cite what I believe to be the most common costume.
#1 Deadpool is a big hit! Pure and simple. I think that's because of the versatility of that character, while he looks cool and menacing he's also known for a witty sense of humor which allows folks to goof around and not feel like their breaking character? Anyway, that's my best guest
#2 Then there's Doctor Who... all of his many incarnations seemed to be represented here because, let's face it, Doctor Who has been super hot these past few years. Believe it or not, I've even seena few human Tardis-s kickin' around as well!
#3 A lot of Anime character who I have no idea about... sorry folks, you're breaking out the deep cuts and I can't follow, I'm afraid
#4 Harlequin is a big one! That seems to be everybody's favorite and why not? Fun, sexy, all that good stuff.
And last but certainly not least, I got go with that dude from Guardian of The Galaxy. You know, StarLord, the one and only!
So much creativity clearly went into all of the folks who dressed up this year and it was a pleasure to see.
And so, there you have it, folks! That's all for now. I hope to keep in touch, check out my facebook page for all of the latest updates on PortCon 2015!
